Karen Fournier has been teaching piano since 1978. She received her Bachelor of Music in Music Education (piano and choral focus) at the University of Oregon. From 1978 - 80 she taught music at Rose and Fullerton Elementary Schools in Roseburg, Oregon and at Cal Young Junior High School in Eugene, Oregon. From 1986 - 88 she taught choir and guitar to developmentally disabled adults at Santa Rosa Junior College. From 1987-1990, she became a certified teacher of Yamaha Piano Music and taught in group settings.

Karen is a member of the Music Teachers’ Association of California (MTAC) and the American College of Musicians (National Guild). From 1998 - 2000, Karen served on the MTAC Marin Branch board of directors.

For over forty years, Karen has taught piano privately. Her studio now brims with 35 weekly students. She hosts two recitals each year (December and June) at St. Stephen’s Church on Belvedere Island.
